* IPX/SPX protocol must be supplied
by the Microsoft NWLink IPX/SPX/NetBIOS driver(Novell IPX/SPX
driver not supported). ProFile does not support NetBEUI
** Windows® 98 and Windows® ME users: Please note that as of July 11th, 2006, Microsoft has officially discontinued its support of Windows® 98 and Windows® ME. At the start of the 2006/2007 tax season, ProFile will also cease its support of operating systems running on Windows® 98 and Windows ® ME. VISTA users: If you are using or plan on using Microsoft's latest operating system VISTA (scheduled to release in early 2007), please note that ProFile will not be certified "VISTA Compliant" for the ProFile 2006 season. Our initial testing indicates that ProFile should run on VISTA and we do not anticipate any major complications.
1 A GDI/Host based printer is a printer
that has little memory and processing power and that relies on
the operating system to do most of the work necessary to print
a page
2 A "Smart" printer is a printer
that has memory and enough processing capacity to do the bulk
of the work needed to print a page. This keeps your computer more
responsive because the operating system does not have to do as
much work. |
